Kobe Bryant Free Zoom Kobe IV Give Away
Kobe Bryant will give away 100 pairs of NIKEiD-designed Zoom Kobe IV shoes to lucky fans at the Staples Center just prior to gameday on Christmas.
The NIKEiD Zoom Kobe IV shoes that Bryant actually wears during the game will be signed and auctioned on ebay.com with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Kobe Bryant Family Foundation. In addition to the one-of-a-kind shoes, the winning bidder will receive two tickets to a future game and the chance to receive the shoes from Kobe directly.

Hefner Playboy Twins Wish you a Merry Christmas
It looks like we'll have to think of a new idea for the Defamer Christmas card, because Hugh Hefner and his 19-year-old twin concubines have gone and stolen ours.
We won't tell you exactly how we'd planned to bring it off (only that it involved Seth in a bathrobe, STV in booty shorts, and—in an eerie coincidence—proprietary "HUFF POST" watermarks), but we can guarantee it would have had higher production values than the Playboy founder's seemingly tossed-off card, the cover of which the Huffington Post has a copy of. Though twins Kristina and Karissa Shannon are present and randomly body-painted, there is a disappointing lack of either face-kicking or holiday blasphemy. With just a little more effort, we're certain a nativity scene could have been recreated where the Shannons nurse Hef in a manger, while the Three Wise Girls Next Door approach bearing gifts of silicone, cannabis, and little purple pills.

I have seen some questionable game day promotions in my time, but the one that Cleveland has cooked up for their big Christmas game against Washington may just take the cake. On that yuletide day, Nike will unveil a new "chalk" version of the Zoom LeBron VI shoes, which features a silhouette of Mr. James preforming his signature chalk tossing move that he stole from Michael JordanWhat?! How can that possibly be a good idea? Will they also provide free admission for asthma sufferers? does in the tradition of former NBA greats. To help celebrate the occasion, all 20,000 Cavs fans in attendance will also receive a bag of chalk that they will be encouraged to throw in the air at same time James does.

2008 Worst Photoshop Pictures
From anatomically impossible appendages, to hovering hands, to skin as smooth as a Botoxed forehead, this year presented us with a not-so-little shop of digitally enhanced horrors.
Behold! Beyonce, ScarJo, Clive Owen, and their many celebrity friends go under the pointer, with terrifying results.
Jessica Simpson: Waist Not, Want Not
Much like Frankenstin's monster, Jessica Simpson is all misshapen, sewn together limbs on the September cover of Elle.
Marie Claire Editors' Revealing Reflections
We know the editors of the international edition of Marie Claire are more accustomed to being the photoshoppers than the photoshopees, but they should have known to check the reflection in the glass conference room table. Your unsightly (i.e. perfectly normal, human) faces are showing!
Jessica Alba: Whittled in the Name of Liquor
2008 was a big year for Jessica Alba. She lost all her baby weight! (Also, had a beautiful, healthy baby girl.) But everyone knows women with hips capable of birthing babies are not capable of shilling a fine liquor like Campari.
Britney Takes the "Circus" Theme a Step Too Far
Was the artwork for Britney's single "Womanizer" inspired by a fun house mirror?
Rumer Willis's Missing Hand, Jaw Bone
Apparently Walmart thought Rumer Willis would be the perfect celebrity for their ad campaign, as long as she got an entirely different face and lost that unnecessary right hand.
Scarlett Johansson Goes From "Curvy" To "Cartoonish"
Was Scarlett's waist Photoshopped for the August cover of Cosmopolitan, or are corsets coming back in style?
Kimora Lee Simmons Discovers the Fountain of Youth

Running low on cash? Why not ask these British mags to photoshop you a new lipstick color, or better yet an entirely new dress and body, like they did for Lily Allen?
Olympians Have Got Milk, Extra Hand

Castle Crashers Gets Patched
It's been a long time coming, but notoriously fun, notoriously buggy XBLA hit Castle Crashers is finally going to receive a title update. The official word comes outta the forums of developer The Behemoth. Nearly four months after the game's release, the update is scheduled to be made available at 2am Pacific Time, Wednesday. That's some Christmas present! There's no word on just what is to be fixed, but coming at the end of a four month wait, we'd expect it to not only address the game's numerous online issues, but throw a few Christmas treats in for good measure.

Maxim's Hottest Video Game Babes of 2008
We've already had our fair share of Game of the Year awards, now it's time to find out what everyone has just been dying to know: Who were the hottest video game babes this year?
A crack team of qualified and highly intelligent researchers at Maxim put together their list, which features the likes of Zoey (Left 4 Dead), Celeste (Mirror's Edge), and Elika (Prince of Persia). But while this list isn't ranked per se, if I had to pick just one I would most certainly have to go with Jenny McCarthy from Red Alert 3. Not because she's real or that I've seen her naked, but because she's 36. Yes, 36! I'll even argue she looks better now (in a more mature way) than from her days on MTV's Singled Out.
Anyway, I feel there were a few omitted, like Shanoa (Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia), Kaoru Sayama (Yakuza 2), and any one of the girls from Persona 4. Any others?
1. Naomi Hunter - Metal Gear Solid 4 (Konami)

2. Anya Stroud - Gears of War 2 (Epic Games)
 3. Kendra Daniels - Dead Space (EA Games)
4. Catwoman - MK vs. DC Universe (Midway)

5. Zoey - Left 4 Dead (Valve)
 6. Sophitia Alexandra - Soul Calibur IV (Namco Bandai)
 7. Natasha Volkova (Gina Carano) & Special Agent Tanya Adams (Jenny McCarthy) - Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 (EA Games)
 8. Trish - Devil May Cry 4 (Capcom)
 9. Maria Sharapova - Top Spin 3 (2K Sports)
 10. Detective Chase Linh (Played by Maggie Q) - Need for Speed Undercover (EA Games)
 11. Celeste - Mirror´s Edge (EA Games)
 12. Elle Holloway - Silent Hill Homecoming (Konami)
 13. Lola del Rio - Grand Theft Auto IV (Rockstar Games)
 14. Chun-Li - Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (Capcom)
 15. Elika - Prince of Persia (Ubisoft)
 16. Lara Croft - Tomb Raider Underworld (Eidos Interactive)

Sony Playstation 3 goes 3D for 2009
Are you ready for 3D? Sony certainly is. According to one CEO, the Playstation 3 will be ready to display in 3D starting sometime in the New Year. Neil Schneider, President and CEO of Meant to be Seen, the "world's first and only stereoscopic 3D certification and advocacy group," was told by Blitz Games Studios, the company creating and licensing the 3D engine, that Sony "fully intends" on using stereoscopic 3D for their games and blu-ray movies starting in 2009. “The best part is console support will only need a bios upgrade to work,” Schneider writes. “We are told that the ability to add this capability via bios may be unique to Sony PS3 versus the other console solutions.” I've been seeing a lot of 3D stuff creep up as of late, particularly in movies. When did this happen? Is anyone really excited by having to wear glasses when you watch anything on TV? My only question is: When is 4D com

A Japanese magazine scrounged some new screens of Final Fantasy XIII. Yes, the characters conform to the Squenix design standards, which mean either you can't tell their gender or they actually belong to both. A few sites got their grubby paws on 'em, Smashpad is one publishing in English, so let's go over there and have a look.

And while, ordinarily, I'd now pass off someone else's wisdom as my own, realize that I would be quoted in the Wall Street Journal as a source on live childbirth before I'd ever sound authoritative on Final Fantasy. And Fahey's off duty. So here's their analysis:
There are a few details about the game we have been able to decipher despite knowning no Japanese. There appears to be a very prominent red-headed female character that is reminiscent of Rikku from Final Fantasy X. The gameplay screens are hard to decode, as the menu system looks a bit different and disjointed by comparison to previous FF games. Also, FFXIII appears to stay the course set by FFXII by showing enemies on the field rather than throwing players into random battles.
